Air Fryer Hard Boiled Eggs
Perfectly cooked "hard-boiled" eggs, no water needed, with easy peel shells every time.
I absolutely love hard-boiled eggs for a quick snack or to add to salads, but dealing with boiling water and stubborn shells can sometimes be a hassle. That's why I was so excited to discover how incredibly easy it is to make perfect "hard-boiled" eggs right in my air fryer! This method consistently gives me eggs with perfectly set whites and yolks, and the shells practically slide right off. Don't be intimidated by trying a new way to cook eggs; this recipe is foolproof and perfect for home cooks and starter cooks alike, making your meal prep a breeze.
Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups ice
- 1 cup cold water
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 275°F (135°C).
- Carefully place the eggs directly into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the basket.
- Cook for 15 minutes for perfectly hard-boiled eggs. If you prefer a slightly softer yolk, reduce the cooking time to 13-14 minutes.
- While the eggs are cooking, prepare an ice bath by filling a large bowl with ice and cold water.
- Once the cooking time is complete, carefully remove the hot eggs from the air fryer basket using tongs and immediately transfer them to the ice bath.
- Let the eggs cool in the ice bath for at least 5-10 minutes. This stops the cooking process and makes them much easier to peel.
- Gently tap and roll the cooled eggs on a hard surface to crack the shells, then peel under cold running water for the easiest removal.
- Enjoy your perfectly cooked air fryer hard-boiled eggs immediately, or store them in the refrigerator for up to one week.
