I absolutely love hard-boiled eggs for a quick snack or to add to salads, but dealing with boiling water and stubborn shells can sometimes be a hassle. That's why I was so excited to discover how incredibly easy it is to make perfect "hard-boiled" eggs right in my air fryer! This method consistently gives me eggs with perfectly set whites and yolks, and the shells practically slide right off. Don't be intimidated by trying a new way to cook eggs; this recipe is foolproof and perfect for home cooks and starter cooks alike, making your meal prep a breeze.

Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups ice
  • 1 cup cold water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 275°F (135°C).
  2. Carefully place the eggs directly into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the basket.
  3. Cook for 15 minutes for perfectly hard-boiled eggs. If you prefer a slightly softer yolk, reduce the cooking time to 13-14 minutes.
  4. While the eggs are cooking, prepare an ice bath by filling a large bowl with ice and cold water.
  5. Once the cooking time is complete, carefully remove the hot eggs from the air fryer basket using tongs and immediately transfer them to the ice bath.
  6. Let the eggs cool in the ice bath for at least 5-10 minutes. This stops the cooking process and makes them much easier to peel.
  7. Gently tap and roll the cooled eggs on a hard surface to crack the shells, then peel under cold running water for the easiest removal.
  8. Enjoy your perfectly cooked air fryer hard-boiled eggs immediately, or store them in the refrigerator for up to one week.
