I love recipes that make cleanup a breeze, and this sheet pan salmon and asparagus is one of my absolute favorites for just that reason. It’s so simple to throw together after a long day, and the combination of bright lemon and fresh herbs with the flaky salmon and tender asparagus is just divine. Even if you’re new to cooking, you’ll find this recipe incredibly straightforward and rewarding.

Ingredients

  • 2 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried herbs (such as dill, parsley, or Italian blend)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the trimmed asparagus with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread the asparagus in a single layer on one side of the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place them on the other side of the baking sheet.
  4. Drizzle the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the salmon. Sprinkle evenly with dried herbs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Drizzle the fresh lemon juice over the salmon fillets.
  6. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork, and the asparagus is tender-crisp.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh lemon slices if desired.
